The years may have made her a few inches shorter, but like coal being compressed until it's a diamond, she just gets more clarity, shine and beauty. All of which were contained in this lovely essay. You did her proud!

every inch she loses just furthers her claim as the inch for inch champion of the world

I think the world would be a better place if everybody tried to be just a little more like Ruthie.

Sweet tribute to your grandma, Will. I remember her and the Pizza Wagon from my youth, growing up in the neighborhood and a friend with your dad’s. Happy 100th Ruth.

We love Ruthie, too! It was always so special and such a delight whenever we had the opportunity to be in her presence. And what an amazing grandson she’s so fortunate to have, Will. This tribute to her is so respectful and loving of her. You’re a wonderful extension of her. Wish we could’ve been there for the fireworks. Happy Birthday, Ms. Ruthie! 🌹🥂

Truly one of my all-time favorite people (and the best boss I ever had). Her ability to seemlessly shift back.and forth from my boss to my friend's wonderful and generous mom was remarkable. She still is remarkable and allegedly running a very tight ship at her assisted living complex. Ruthie, sorry we missed the party but hope to see you soon,!

She really is the star of that community and more with it than people twenty years younger than her!

Will I'm so sorry to hear of your grandma's passing. I met your grandma and grandpa Bill shortly after I had arrived to this country from Argentina. They've always had a very special place in my heart . Your grandpa reminded me a lot of an uncle of mine in Argentina and Ruth was a vey special lady. You were blessed to have her in your life. May her memory be a blessing. Best to you and yours. Jose Sectzer

Will, your tribute to Ruthie on her 100th, came from your "Dumb Brain" momentarily, but I surmise that the true tribute came from "Will's Heart and Soul". Reading about your thoughts and feelings of Ruthie are lovingly heartwarming and I'm certain that everyone reading your words were deeply touched. You and your family are truly blessed and inspired in having the beloved-by-all Ruth Peterman in your lives as a beacon of joy, wisdom and love. The photos I've seen featrue only a part of the celebratory weekend, yet you've given your readers a delectable treat with your insight in "Hitting Triple Digits". Write On!

First, Happy Birthday Ruthie!

What a wonderful tribute to your Grandma.

I am three quarters of the way to 100 but don't care to be reminded of that. 100 or over is a number I attempt to avoid... especially on the golf course, of course! In terms of age, I'm not sure I want to live that long.

I agree with EVERYTHING you said! And also cannot believe how much Queen Ruthie has defied the life expectancy for a woman when she was born. Coolest thing ever!
