If you’ve been paying attention to the news in the entertainment industry, or some of my essays, the Writers Guild of America is on strike…luckily for me, I just joined their ranks a few years ago, which means, I am also on strike.
Lazy afternoons, they are magical. My son, who knows how to buy the perfect gift, gave me a hammock a few years ago. I love to lie in it and look up at the leaves or the clouds, something we do as kids and then seem to forget is an option as we get older. Clouds are fantastic. As are naps. And reading. And (for me, if not my son or my wife) listening to music. All wonderful. One thing to avoid: watching the news for more than twenty minutes. After that, it just repeats and raises your blood pressure.

Lazy is the best with good friends or family around just sitting there and talking. Especially if they agree with everything I say.
My favorite lazy afternoon is one that follows a lazy morning.
