Long live the Dodger Bar Crawl 🫡

Years ago, a group of us began meeting on Friday afternoons at our friend's brewery to sample beers from breweries around the country. Our friend dubbed us The Safety Committee as an explanation when one of his employees asked why we were meeting weekly in the brewery's office. As the brewery grew, so did the need for actual employees to use the office. The Safety Committee now meets at members' homes on a rotating basis. The only new addition is the use of Uber drivers.

That sounds amazing! Any truly mind blowing beers you’ve tried?

There are far too many to pick one. I'll send you a pic from our last meeting to illustrate.

Love this one, and the pictures, which radiate the celebratory nature of this now annual event! You and your compatriots have taken advantage of having grown up in the same town you're now all living in. So many of us are scattered far and wide from the places we made those friendship, but we can take vicarious pleasure in your exploits. I feel incredibly fortunate that we older folks made some lasting friendships with the parents of many of the friends you now call your own, and one wonderful tradition that has come out of it is the monthly women's book club and its male counterpart, the men's non-book book club. Every month the women get together to discuss a book and on that night the men gather at a local steak house (everybody brings one bottle of wine) and under the guidance of the former headmaster of the school where WDB made many of the bar crawl gang, we take a room in the back and talk about politics, our kids, and occasionally, even a book or two. It's a great collection of smart people with enough variety to ensure we aren't all in lockstep on every subject. The conversation can be passionate but it's always civil, and often funny. And I love being a part of it. Still, not as much fun as what you guys do! Thanks for sharing, and again, great pics!!
