I’ve noticed that all of my favorite creative people have one big thing in common: they pay attention to the world around them. They notice the little things that can bring a piece of art to life. The nuances that turn a character into a person you feel like you know. The small details that turn a simple painting into a portal to another place. The tiny moments that can take turn a photograph into a memory made physical. So how do you go from floating through the world to really paying attention to it? My favorite way is just watching it go by.
I’m staring out my window right now. All the different shades of green against the gray sky. So wonderfully moody.
I love this piece. Sweet, evocative and a beautiful reminder of the value of paying attention to the world around us
Great piece of writing, Will!!
