Bravo to you, Will Peterman, and to your wonderful and not so dumb brain. It was a remarkable achievement, full of laughter, heartbreak and insight, ending with a beautiful farewell summation that does credit to all the glorious work that came before. Thank you for 200 individual 2-4 minute reading experiences (sometimes I read them twice, they were so good) that enriched our lives. Can't wait to read/hear more of your adventures in whatever form they come! Bravo again!
Oh Will. This essay brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for bringing an essay to my inbox every Tuesday. It has been such a wonderful constant in my life - one of the only subscriptions that I truly enjoyed reading every week - that reminded me it’s Tuesday again - that made me proud to call you a friend. Thank you for the weekly entertaining and thought provoking essays. Thank you for sharing a bit of your (not at all dumb) brain. You are an incredible writer and I look forward to reading whatever you happen to write next (even if it’s just one of your witty text messages).
Mazel-ations Will. It has been a pleasure reading your musings and ruminations. Your humor and modesty infuse your work. I've met you only once, but feel I know you well because of WDB. Hope we can hear about the arc of your journey from here on. Fare forward!
😢🥹 I will miss these so much. Thank you for putting in the work to build such a nice community for us all. You are a beautiful writer and I hope you never stop. Now I’m just waiting on the WDB merch.
I'm sorry to see you go! As others have said, you really brightened up my Tuesdays. And I can't help thinking that, with all these people saying they are going to miss reading WDB, maybe you should reconsider and keep writing it!
I know if you're choosing to end the run here, it must be the right thing for you, but I'll miss the weekly observations, check-ins, new ideas, shared outrages, and humor that graced these essays. It's been a gift to see the world through your eyes. Thank you for sharing the project! And I'm glad I've got the archive in my email to revisit.
What a day… What a project. I’m so proud of you my friend. I loved spending a little
time with you each week as your words put a smile on my face even if sometimes through tears. You’re an elegant soul William J. Peterman. I look forward to following your continuing adventures in whatever format you deliver them in. Just remember, as your father well knows: you’re never really out.
What a day, what a project. Thanks for reading and being a part of a bunch of the experiences that lead to essays...and you're right, that's why it's just bye for now
I am so disappointed and understanding at the same time. Your essays will be sorely missed. Your take on things I wouldn't have thought about yet can relate to once you opened my eyes is something that goes beyond being missed. Tuesdays will never be the same.
I am going to miss your funny, insightful, and warm postings. It has been a joy to read your blog. Sorry to see you go but on to bigger and better things for you!!
Will, I've relished in your weekly musings, as well as being reminded, "it's Tuesday already?!" and as my late father would say," My, how the tempus does fugit!". Most likely, without your essays, I'll never know when it's Tuesday or how another week has sped by (I know, one should never end a sentence with a preposition). These past 4 years have been unkind to up and coming creatives, and perhaps one day you'll get inspired to write the great American novel, yet, I'm sure your followers would agree that you should not cease your writing, you're only ending the "Will's Dumb Brain" chapter of your life. Perhaps you can publish a collection of all 200 essays in one or two volumes, like Percy Bysshe Shelley, Thomas Paine, Benjamin Franklin (think : "Flush William's Almanac"), H.G. Wells and Charles Dickens. I'm looking to the future when you turn that Spider essay into an animated short subject...never too late.
I shall miss your weekly read. They made me laugh, made me think, made me miss my parents and grandparents and made me want to write a musing of my own, which I sometimes did, as well as thoughts about writing more comments, alas the tempus got away from me and I didn't follow up...unlike you, who faithfully appeared in print every Tuesday.
When I did write i closed with two words, which I shall close with now : WRITE ON!
Thank you so much for reading and commenting and all the support Cliff. I may have to consider putting together a collection of these essays. And yes, it's just goodbye for now. If there's one thing I've learned, its that I have no idea what the future hold!
Will, thank you for making me smile and warming my heart all these years. I have loved these little Tuesday gems and think you are a fantastic writer. Best wishes in the next exciting phase of your life. Claire
I am really going to miss WDB. You became a regular part of my life. I work Tuesday mornings and I always looked forward to coming home to read WDB. You were as consistent as Big Ben. Thank you for all these years of entertainment ! On to the next big thing !
