When you play a round of golf as a single, sometimes it takes you a few holes to get a sense of who you’re playing with…other times, people burst onto the first tee like a bolt of lightning—that’s the only way I can describe Shane: electricity personified.
It was a busy Monday morning at my local track, and after a long wait I was about to pick up my clubs and call it a loss when my buzzer went off. I apologized to the golf gods for doubting them, checked in and hustled up the hill to the first tee to meet my playing partners. AJ was a restaurateur who decided to take a day off and enjoy the weather. James was a member of the men’s golf club and an absolute stick.
Shane was our fourth. As soon as I saw him in his immaculate matching green fit, arms, legs, and face covered in tattoos and piercings, I knew I had to interview him. He was exactly the type of player that inspired Nize Days.
