I hate Timothee Chalamet. Not in a fun way though but in a I’d like to fight him in a parking lot way. I mean, I’d be happy to buy him a beer and a hot dog after but kid needs an ass kicking.

Well I just hope you get to kick his ass, on set, for money. A win-win

I hate people who hate Coldplay, a band that has created music that some consider easy or cheesy, but which I experience as joyous and anthemic. Plus, Chris Martin seems like a pretty delightful guy and, having been married to Gwyneth Paltrow has, I would argue, suffered enough. Now, you would think by the transitive power of love/hate, I would hate Radiohead, because a lot of people who hate Coldplay lovvvvve Radiohead. I don’t hate Radiohead for the simple reason that anyone who seems as absolutely miserable as Thom Yorke deserves sympathy rather than hostility. He’s so miserable it’s like he was the one who had to live with Gwyneth (who I did like in “Shakespeare In Love” and her recurring in The Marvel Universe but wow, the Gwyneth brand, um, pass please). And in a world as tough as this one is, the last thing I need is Thom whining about is…well, pretty much everything. Except Fake Plastic Trees. I like that one.

And I hate Coldplay. They’re just so…smarmy! Like they think they’re so deep and intellectual when really they make trumped up elevator music.

It is fun to hate when you simply hate what someone represents. I don't hate the players for the Cowboys, just the uniform they show up in. Actually, I might hate Jerry Jones so there are exceptions.

Hilariously, given the title of your blog post, I hate the Star Wars movies and the unwarranted ubiquity that the pop-culture phenomenon has achieved.

Ooo very interesting zag! What do you hate about Star Wars?

Haha! To be fair, I've only watched the original 6 movies, so temper your judgement there. I don't particularly *hate* Star Wars, I just have a massive disconnect between how good, or even fun, the movies were and the immense lasting pop-cultural significance that they had. I groan in early May when someone says, "May the 4th (force) be with you, har har." I think Lucas' universe is an achievement on it's own, and the story is fine, but the movies themselves fell flat. Except The Empire Strikes Back, which was undeniably fun.

“ hate” in the context of one of the great rivalries in sports is absolutely acceptable. I “ hate “ the Dodgers - but always respected them. I even liked a few of the Bums - Koufax ; Orel and Kershaw ( although my Giants buddies I grew up with say that since moving to LA I have gotten soft

A fun rivalry to hate the other team in, lots of great players that are fun on your team and easy to hate if they’re not!

There are some great hot takes worthy of debate in here, but the baseball one I feel unqualified to weigh in on because I always kind of liked the Angels, which is like the "being from San Diego" of being from LA

Ah the Angels, a team that has had two of the best players of the last 20 years (Trout and Pujols) and maybe the most electric player ever (Ohtani) and they’re under .500 and have made the playoffs once in Trout’s career. A real shame
